mon, ma, mes
Use mon/ton/son with masculine singular nouns and before feminine singular nouns beginning with a vowel sound or mute h: mon amie. Use ma/ta/sa before other feminine singular nouns and mes/tes/ses with plurals. The form agrees with the thing owned.

Use ma for feminine singular nouns.

Plural nouns
Use mes for all plural nouns.

Common mix-ups
Ami is masculine, so use mon. Before a feminine noun beginning with a vowel sound, use mon too: mon amie.
It is my friend.
