Adjectives match the noun
Adjectives take gender and number: un café chaud, une robe chaude, des cafés chauds. Most follow the noun; a few short ones (grand, petit, bon, nouveau) often come before.

Feminine nouns
Rouge already ends in -e and has the same masculine and feminine singular form.
J'ai une voiture rouge.
I have a red car.
Plural nouns
Add an 's' for plural nouns.
Ce sont des livres intéressants.
These are interesting books.
Short adjectives before noun
BANGS adjectives usually come before nouns.
C'est un petit chat.
It is a small cat.
Common mix-ups
Petite agrees with the feminine noun maison; this adjective normally comes before the noun.
It is a small house.
