Adjectives ending in -o change to -a with a feminine noun: un chico alto, una chica alta.

A masculine noun

Use -o for masculine singular nouns.

El perro es pequeño.

The dog is small.

A feminine noun

Change -o to -a for feminine nouns.

La casa es pequeña.

The house is small.

Common mix-ups

Compare: La chica es alto.Use here: La chica es alta.

You must change the -o to -a because the noun 'chica' is feminine.

The girl is tall.
